Twelve Days of Holiday Cards - Day Ten

Welcome to Day Ten of the Twelve Days of Holiday Cards here on my Blog.  Just two more days after today and the series will be complete for 2019.  Today, I specifically did a card that did not have any pink on it!  Although, My Pink and Gold cards have been super popular with my followers.

I have been saving this one last scrap of a gold foiled cardstock, waiting for the perfect thing to use it on and today's card was it.  It is sheet music for The Twelve Days of Christmas song.  I looked everywhere for a sentiment that said something along the lines of "All hearts come home for Christmas" but since I couldn't, I just focused on using "Love" as my Sentiment because, in my mind, Christmas is love and the sentiment on the background paper says "On the 1st day of Christmas, my true love gave to me", so the music is also about love.  Plus, I did use a heart as the focal point.

I absolutely love the Memory Box La Rue Heart.  It's pretty swirly for a girl who mostly likes the very clean lines of geometrics.  But there are exceptions to everything in life and this is one of them for me.

To get the background heart the right size and shape, I used the die to emboss the Shine Red Satin Cardstock and then cut it out by hand.  Because I embossed that piece but didn't cut it, the gold heart nestles right down into the grooves left by embossing.  This works perfectly with simple shapes.  I'm not into fussy cutting, so I have only ever tried it with simple shapes.  I adhered the heart to the cardbase using foam tape for it and also for the little sentiment strip.

Once again, this is a super easy card to create and one that would be easy to create multiples of.  That has been the primary focus of this series; cards that are fast and easy to duplicate in case you are just getting started.  Christmas is just about 26 days away, so it's time to get moving!  Look through your paper stash to see what you have that will make it fast and easy for you.  Designer Papers are always a go-to for me if I want something simple, but beautiful.  I have a thing about buying foiled papers, so I always have some (a.k.a. a LOT) on hand.  They make it fast and easy to pull together a few cards.  There's nothing difficult here at all, but it made a beautiful card.  I might have to save this one for my husband, though!

This is a super simple card for you and you can use any heart dies you might have.  I used Rectangle Basics to die cut the two background layers and Stamper's Select White from Papertrey Ink for my cardbase.
