Memory Box Double Stitch Happy Heart Dies & Floral Bouquet Heart

Hello Everyone!  Thanks so much for stopping by today to see my project.  The last few weeks have been wild and wacky around here so I needed some creative time pretty badly!

I have been out of town a lot (2200+ miles in less than two weeks) and I just wanted to sit down and make something pretty.  I needed a special card for one of our nieces who sang a solo for her grandmother's funeral and so I got to use pretty pinks and golds to pull this card together.

In the most recent Valentine's Collection from last month, there are two styles of hearts that coordinate with the other hearts in this collection.  There are Happy Hearts, which is taller and more elongated while Loving Hearts are shorter and squattier and puts a pretty scalloped detail around the opening.  The choice of hearts for the exterior depends on which heart you choose for the interior.

In this case, I die cut the Happy Heart largest die which leaves a cutout with stitching all the way around.  I cut the same heart from a scrap of Cream, White and Gold Striped paper to go behind the focal image heart, Floral Bouquet Heart which I die cut from Gold Foiled Cardstock. The gold in the focal image matches the background paper perfectly.

I am pretty frugal with my scraps and keep them if they are big enough to cut anything out of such as a shape or letter or what have you.  This is one of those scraps.

This card is really straightforward, clean in style and easy to replicate.  I don't always have time to do something elaborate.  I felt like the die-cut Love Airy Script needed a little sprucing up, so I attached some Gold Foiled Hearts around the image to tie it all together.  Before then, it just kind of faded into the background.  I made a card very similar to this for my niece, but I forgot to photograph it.

I have some amazing planned projects for you in the weeks to come now that the pace of my life is getting back to normal.
