Blog Hop Order

My first project features the Sophisticated Wreath Stamp and Die Bundle is very simple layered stamping. You have to be a bit careful. but it's not too fussy and is easy to line up. I used Minty Mint, Just Green and Hunter Green for the leafy wreath branch and stamped three of each color in a triangular (or circular) kind of pattern. Of course, when I put all of the elements together, I covered about a third of the wreath on the left side, but you just never know how things are going to come together when you start a piece. I try to do mostly single layer cards although I would say that I'm only successful about half the time.
I did some of the berry stems in brown and the others in green, so just do whatever suits your fancy. I used Frosty Pink layered under lavender fields to get the kind of pinky-purply berries while the others were stamped in Coral Berries. The larger flower cluster reminded me of Hydrangeas, and if you're like me, you might have a few hundred of those laying around your craft room. I just kind of fussed with the cluster placement until I had something that I thought was pleasing to the eye. Then I finished off with a blue Hydrangea with a pearl in the center to kind of help lend a look of a few layers there. I could have used foam tape, but I mail the majority of my cards. It's important for things to go through the machines at the USPS without causing issues. That costs more and things have a tendency to get returned.
My next card features a previously made, alcohol inked background panel. I love the jeweled colors in this piece and also the gold alcohol ink, and wanted to make sure that I kept my elements simple to showcase that. I used the Crystal Frames Die Set to feature a center frame with the sentiment "You Are Precious". This is a super simple card that uses layered panels to pick up the colors in the topmost background panel.
For my next card, I had something specific in mind from the get-go. As soon as I saw the Charming Doodles Stamps and Coordinating Dies, I knew that I wanted to use it with the Misty Meadows Washi Tape. The line-drawn images of this set seemed a perfect fit to me. To keep from detracting too much from the beautiful washi background, I wanted super clean images embossed with Antique Gold Embossing Powder, so I chose a metallic cardstock called Iced Gold which is iridescent white shimmer cardstock from PaperPapers.com.
I stamped all of the images from the set with Versamark and heat set them with Antique Gold Embossing Powder. I also used the Crystal frames Dies to cut the small frame and heat embossed that with the "live every day like it's Saturday" sentiment. I die cut it with the frame again and then popped it into place within the small frame. I love the look of the white against the gilded washi tape and I feel like you could use a similar concept for a gorgeous wedding card. I'm not a big "green" fan, unlike my best friend whose favorite color is green, but I adore this washi tape! There's something just so fresh and crisp about it. And I love florals, so green is just part of what goes with that.
For my last project for today, I wanted something very special with one of the Gemstone shapes from Crystal Frames Die Set and then cut another from White Glitter Cardstock to give the impression of a diamond. My daughter's best friend just got engaged and I made this with her in mind. The background is pale pink with lots of gold alcohol inks. It's what happened when I was playing and put a little Alcohol Blending Solution with what was left on my craft mat and then dragged some glossy cardstock through it! I try really hard to capture the shimmer and shine when I photograph my projects, but it will never do justice to the actual card. Given that Pink and Gold is a favorite of mine, I am very happy with the outcome of this card!
