Not long ago, I admired this card made by my online friend, Nancy Penir. We visit each other's blogs but Nancy and I are on The Card Concept Design Team together. With our upcoming move, I took this term off from the Design Team, but I still like to see everyone's projects and I thought this card by Nancy was so pretty. I asked her where she got the background die and she said it was an older Spellbinders die that isn't available anymore. However, she offered to send me a couple of cuts. I actually got them more than a week ago but the last 10 days have been so hectic that I haven't had time to even think about using one of them until yesterday evening.
I started by inking up using a stencil brush with some Sweet Blush Ink and then added an additional bit of ink in Lovely Lady. After that I added some Vintage Jadeite Ink to the leafy areas of the die cut. Once that was done, I ran it through my Xyron 5 inch Creative Station rather than trying to put a bazillion dots of adhesive on the back. I applied that to a 5 x 7 inch piece of Mint Julep Cardstock and then die cut the panel with my largest Stitched Rectangle Die from WPLUS9 which cuts a full A2 sized panel. I adhered that to a top folding card base made from Stamper's Select White Cardstock.
Next, I die cut the middle sized heart from the Little B Stitched Hearts Dies from Stamper's Select White Cardstock and used more of the Sweet Blush and Lovely Lady inks with a stencil brush to apply soft color all over the die cut. I gave it three good sprays with some Iridescent Gold and Sheer Sparkle Shimmer Mists.
Once I had let that dry, I started the heat embossing portion of the card. To begin, I triple stamped and heat embossed the "love you" sentiment using Versamark and Antique Gold Embossing Powder from Simon Says Stamp. For a little touch to tie it all in together, I ran my Versamarker all around the outside of the heart then dipped it in the same Antique Gold Embossing Powder and heat set that. It gives the edge of the heart that gold touch all the way around. I adhered that with Kokuyo Dot Runner which has been my favorite adhesive for many years, back to when I was doing a lot of scrapbooking and making multiple albums each year. I was unable to find refills for quite a few years, I no longer had any refills left and was down to my last two full dispensers. Since then, Jennifer McGuire was able to find refills and now they carry the dispensers and the refills at Simon Says Stamp in both sizes. I have both sizes. The small is great for portability but the larger size lets me make many cards before I have to refill it.
I add a few Mint colored sequins from the Little Things from Lucy's Purely Peppermint Sequin Mix to finish off this card. I used Ranger Multi Medium Matte for this.
