I wanted to use one of the colors from the tulips I had already stamped using Tulip Time Stamps and Dies to help incorporate more of that color into the background panel. I chose the Brilliance Pearlescent Coral Ink. You may remember that I used Pearlescent Coral, Berry Sorbet and Pure Poppy for stamping these earlier and you can read more about it at my post here. The background sentiment, "sending paper hugs since I can't be there to deliver the real thing" is from the Pen & Ink Stamp Set set designed by Nichole Heady and was released last month.
The banner is from the Paper Clippings: Happy Birthday Detail Dies and like a few other banner dies I have, is one that is pretty much always out and sitting in my magnetic dish near my die cutting machine. It's great for cards like this where I am using a larger die cutting sentiment. The "miss you" sentiment is an exclusive die from Simon Says Stamp and cut from gold foiled cardstock. I stamped the sentiment I used for the background as my inside sentiment also, stamping it only a single time on the inside. I only get to see my best friend once or twice a year but I send her cards often and they always contain hugs. *Ü*
I hope you will have time to participate in the challenge. Be sure and stop by the Papertrey Ink Blog to watch Melissa's video if you haven't yet seen it. Have a great day my friends!
What a stunning card! I love the scripty background and those sweet tulips.
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous card. Love the sentiment in the background, your beautiful tulips and the gold die cut!
ReplyDeleteStunning, Vicki! I absolutely love how well that sentiment worked for your background!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful background and beautiful tulips, Vicki! Love how the banner script matches the bg script too!
ReplyDeleteLove the tulips, banner & background stamping on your fabulous card.
ReplyDeleteYou did an EXCELLENT JOB in getting this sentiment NICE & CLOSE to each other to cover your background. I tried with the same stamp & it didn't come out as well as yours! LOL I used another background for my card instead. LOOOOOVE what you've done & glad you made it home safely from your trip! ;)
